This presentation will discuss what blogs are (yes, they're more than journals), the characteristics of a successful blog, and share tips for how you can integrate this medium into your school's marketing program.

Karlyn Morissette, President & Principal Consultant at DoJo Web Strategy
Karlyn Morissette is an electronic communications innovator and a thought leader in higher education. As the President & Principal Consultant of DoJo Web Strategy, she helps colleges to develop and execute goal-driven web strategies to enhance their online marketing efforts. She is an invited speaker at conferences around the country and her blogs, www.karlynmorissette.com and www.doteduguru.com (where she is one of six staff writers), are two of the most-read higher education blogs on the web.
While many offer advice from the sidelines, Karlyn has been there and done it as a practitioner in real-world higher education settings. She brings with her over a decade of web development experience and six years of proven success in implementing web marketing strategies in both admissions and fundraising offices, all while given limited resources and navigating institutional politics. Her areas of expertise include integrated marketing strategy, email marketing, blogging and social media as marketing tools.
Karlyn holds a BS in Communication from Boston University and an MBA from Norwich University. She lives in Norwich, Vermont with her two ferrets Monkey and Scampi.
